Hurricane Florence Preparedness

Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence continues on a westward track towards the Carolina coast. Now is a perfect time to review your family emergency plan and make sure that you have everything in place since hurricane season lasts through November 30. By taking the following actions, you can have peace of mind knowing that you and your family are prepared.

  • Make plans for potential evacuation or sheltering in place.
  • Have a disaster supply kit with provisions for at least three days. Keep in mind each person’s specific needs, including medication. Don’t forget the needs of pets.
  • Keep important documents in a safe place.
  • Protect your property. Declutter drains and gutters. Tie down or store outdoor furniture. Consider hurricane shutters.
