On Sunday, June 6th the Wall Township Police Department and the community honored three WWII Veterans with an Honor Walk to commemorate the 77th Anniversary of D-DAY.
Kicked off with a United States Coast Guard Flyover, the Veterans rode in WWII Jeeps brought to the day’s event by the volunteers of the Military Technology Museum of NJ located in Wall Twp. and Manasquan VFW member Sean Gleason.
The Veterans honored yesterday were:
Wall Twp. resident Bill Guarini, who served in the Navy Pacific Theater aboard a PC Sub chaser.
Wall Twp. resident George Ayers, who served in the Navy aboard LST 981 transporting supplies & vehicles to Omaha Beach on D-DAY
Bridgewater resident Frank DeVita, who served in the Coast Guard aboard a Higgins boat transporting infantry troops to Omaha Beach on D-DAY.
A special thank you to the volunteer reenactors from the Military Technology Museum of NJ, the United States Coast Guard, Wall Community First Aid, Wall First Aid, Glendola Fire Department, Chris Kucinski Photography, all those in the community who walked with us, and most of importantly our WWII Veterans.
