On Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Wall Township Committee meeting, Detective Michael Steitz was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Steitz has been a police officer with the Wall Township Police Department since 1999 and his previous assignments included patrol officer and detective. Sergeant Steitz is a certified hostage negotiator and also instructs interview and interrogation classes. He possesses a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Georgian Court University in Business Administration and has received numerous awards from the Monmouth County 200 Club and the Monmouth Ocean County Intelligence Bureau.
